Addiction is a disease that affects every aspect of a person’s being.

Close relationships are particularly vulnerable to problems caused by their loved one's addiction.

Contrary to many beliefs, addiction is not a moral failing it is a disease that affects everyone within the family in some capacity.

The impact of a loved one's addiction on their family leads to each one of  the family members coping in different ways. Most of these coping mechanisms can be damaging to the family members mind, body and spirit.

Is this familiar?
If so, we can help.

The family member is NOW the one who needs guidance on how to manage themselves and heal from the impact of their loved ones.

Addiction affects families in various ways.  Do you relate to any of these?

  • You become the loved one's caretaker.

  • The worry is constant and anxiety is ever increasing

  • Blame yourself or take responsibility for their use

  • Find you don’t trust them

  • Change your mind frequently

  • Heated arguments

  • Incredibly lonely, angry and fearful

  • Frustrated about not being able to change the alcoholic/addict and yet torn because you “love them”

If you can relate to any of these… you are in the right place to receive help.

Healing for the Family

Individual or Family Program

You will be getting specialized individual coaching for yourself or other members within the family system. This will be on an intensive basis with one of the experts. Here you will learn skills and strategies to cope in a positive way. Soon, you will experience relief from this pain.

Everyone has an opportunity to join the family group if they choose. This is particularly helpful by learning that others are experiencing the same issues and feelings. It becomes a supportive and friendly environment where you can safely share intimate details of your situation without judgment.

There will be life skills and education groups. In addition, we will review readings, assignments and reference materials that will also help with understanding, healing and most of all solutions.

Healing from Trauma

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a new evidence-based therapy that aids in treating trauma and other mental health issues. This therapy works directly to reprogram the way in which distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so that they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions.

ART is unique in that it combines the power of eye movements to allow voluntary changes in your mind with well-established therapies like Gestalt, Psychodynamic Therapy and Guided Imagery. Within the ART protocol, the eye movements, along with other ART enhancements, make these therapies work much faster and more effectively.

When you replace your negative images with positive ones you don’t need to talk about any details of the trauma.
